VETASSESS will increase Professional Skills Assessment fees from 9 September 2026. Applications received before this date will remain subject to the current fees.
Fees for Professional Skills Assessments will increase from 9 September 2026, according to VETASSESS. The changes will also affect Priority Processing, Skills Assessment Support, Chinese Qualifications Verification, non-migration skills assessments and administration fees.
VETASSESS says the fees will increase in line with movements in inflation and the Consumer Price Index (CPI), following a review in accordance with Australian Government guidance.
The increase does not apply to assessments for trade occupations.
Key VETASSESS Fee Changes
Several of the main fees relevant to applicants seeking a Professional Skills Assessment will increase as follows:

What Happens If You Apply Before 9 September 2026?
Under the new arrangements, applications received before 9 September 2026 will be charged at the current rates. Anyone who is already prepared to lodge may therefore be able to avoid the higher fees by submitting their application before the new schedule takes effect.
Rushing an incomplete or inaccurate application simply to meet the deadline is not advisable. Applicants should ensure they provide the required documents and information before lodging, as incomplete evidence can lead to delays.
