The NSW Government will hold an invitation round for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) this week after receiving its interim allocation for the 2025–2026 Skilled Migration Program.
The Department of Home Affairs has provided NSW with an interim allocation of 200 places for the Subclass 190 visa and 180 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491), pending the release of the state’s full program quota.
While the interim allocation remains limited, NSW is moving ahead with the 190-visa invitation round to maintain program momentum. The government has advised prospective applicants to ensure their SkillSelect Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are current and that they can provide valid supporting evidence for all claims if selected.
“Keeping your SkillSelect EOI up to date is critical to ensure you remain eligible when invitations are issued,” the NSW Government stated.
NSW 2025–2026 Skills Lists
NSW has published its new Skills Lists for the 190 and 491 visas, outlining eligible occupations by ANZSCO unit group. Unlisted occupations are not eligible this year.
