The WA Government has launched the Construction Visa Subsidy Program (CVSP), offering up to $10,000 in grants to help construction businesses attract and retain skilled workers across the state.
The funding aims to support both local employers and skilled migrants, helping to offset expenses related to migration agent fees, visa applications, and relocation costs. The initiative is designed to make it easier and more affordable for construction businesses to sponsor overseas talent while encouraging skilled workers to settle and work in Western Australia.
Under the program, WA employers can apply through the CVSP Employer Sponsored Stream, while independent skilled migrants may be eligible under the CVSP State Nominated Stream.
The State Government said the subsidy complements its broader workforce strategy, investing in local training while ensuring the state retains and attracts the skilled migrants needed by businesses today.
The CVSP is part of Western Australia’s continued efforts to balance long-term workforce development with immediate labour market demands in the booming construction sector.
