VETASSESS has changed its Offshore Skills Assessment Program (OSAP) and TSS Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) assessment programs following updates introduced by Trades Recognition Australia, affecting application intake, occupations assessed, and fees.
Under the changes, VETASSESS has paused acceptance of new Stage 1 Documentary Evidence Assessment applications from 9:00 AM (AEDT) on 13 March 2026 until 9:00 AM (AEDT) on 30 March 2026.
The online application portal has also temporarily closed to new Stage 1 submissions between 9:00 AM (AEDT) on 13 March 2026 and 9:00 AM (AEDT) on 23 March 2026 as part of the transition to the updated arrangements.
From 30 March 2026, VETASSESS will stop accepting new applications for the occupations of Fitter-Welder (ANZSCO Code: 323213) and Pastrycook (ANZSCO Code: 351112).
New assessment fees will apply to applications submitted from 30 March 2026. Trades Recognition Australia will publish the updated fees, which will appear on the Trades Occupations Fees and Payment page of the VETASSESS website from 23 March 2026.
Applications submitted and paid for on or before 13 March 2026 will not be affected by the changes and will continue to be processed under the existing arrangements.
