The National Innovation Visa (NIV) is a permanent residency visa for individuals recognized for their outstanding achievements in specific fields, including sports, the arts, academia, and research. This visa is designed for those who have an internationally recognized record of exceptional and outstanding achievement and who wish to live and work in Australia permanently.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Internationally recognized record of exceptional and outstanding achievement in a relevant field such as sports, arts, academia, or research
- Nomination by a person or organisation with a national reputation in the relevant field using Form 1000
- Evidence of substantial contributions to the field of expertise
- Be active and still currently outstanding in your area
- Be an asset to the Australian community
- Be under 55 years of age when you apply, unless proven to be of exceptional benefit to the Australian community
- Have at least functional English
- Health and character requirements met
- Sign the Australian values statement
- Have paid back your debt to the Australian Government
- Not had a visa cancelled or an application refused
