Victoria has confirmed 3,400 skilled visa nomination places for the 2025–2026 program and will brief migration professionals during an online webinar on Thursday, 27 November.
The Department of Home Affairs finalised the allocation this week, granting Victoria 2,700 places for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and 700 places for the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491). These places will shape the state’s skilled migration intake for the year ahead.
The Victorian Government will host a one-hour webinar from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM AEDT, aimed at migration agents and migration lawyers. The session will provide first-hand updates from the Skilled Migration Program, covering visa nomination options, eligibility requirements, application steps, and priority sectors. Attendees may register here and may also submit questions in advance, with organisers planning to address as many as possible during the event.
Victoria confirmed that all active Registrations of Interest (ROIs) remain valid for consideration in the 2025–2026 program unless applicant details have changed.
New applicants must meet current eligibility rules, lodge a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI), and submit an ROI through the Live in Melbourne portal.
The subclass 190 visa provides a permanent pathway for skilled migrants wishing to live and work anywhere in Victoria, while the subclass 491 visa offers a provisional route to live and work in regional Victoria, leading to permanent residency via the subclass 191 visa.
